MTSI is seeking a
Business Operations Specialist
to work remotely and support our Strategic Operations department.
Position Overview
This role involves evaluating and analyzing complex business problems to identify opportunities for improved efficiency. Responsibilities include reviewing company information, forecasts, methods, schedules, and systems, and implementing business processes that enhance operational effectiveness. The position offers the opportunity to develop operational competency across a wide range of strategic and cross-company functions, gain visibility with company leaders, receive mentorship, and actively contribute to change initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Change Management
- Assist in developing and deploying change management strategies for new business systems, policies, or workflows.
- Participate in meetings with infrastructure business system owners and the Office of the CIO for application rationalization efforts.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement to support adoption of changes across teams.
- Assess barriers to organizational improvement and recommend corrective actions.
Business Systems Integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and processes effectively.
- Monitor integration outcomes and propose optimizations for improved performance.
Communications Management
- Coordinate internal communications to ensure alignment on operational goals and initiatives.
- Compile messaging for strategic updates, team progress, and organizational priorities.
- Assist in developing presentation materials and support leadership in delivering strategic initiatives.
Policy Development and Management
- Assist in formulating and refining operational policies to enhance administrative functions.
- Maintain a repository of strategic operations policies, playbooks, and forms; support communication of changes.
Data Management
- Support collection, analysis, and visualization of operational and strategic data.
- Maintain and update dashboards and reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in data-driven decision-making efforts to improve transparency and accountability.
- Support Data Services requirements within Strategic Operations.
Strategic and Operational Planning
- Provide operational support for strategic planning cycles and meetings.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for strategic meetings.
Process Improvement
- Identify areas of inefficiency in current processes and recommend enhancements.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement strategies across departments.
Digital Presence Management
- Collaborate to expand and maintain a robust digital footprint for Strategic Operations.
- Ensure regular updates to digital platforms to increase stakeholder engagement.
- Integrate digital tools that bolster collaboration and operational efficiency.
- Utilize MS Power Platform tools (SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
Reporting and Documentation
- Draft reports summarizing progress on Strategic Operations initiatives.
- Develop playbooks, training materials, and documentation for systems and processes.
- Ensure records and documentation comply with organizational standards.
General Administrative Duties
- Perform structured work assignments with limited discretion to vary from established procedures.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of functional, administrative, and analytical principles.
- Ability to execute tasks using comprehensive, well-defined processes under general oversight.
- Familiarity with business and functional terminology.
- Initiative to learn new skills and apply them to current/future tasks.
- Proactive in seeking opportunities for additional responsibility and team support.
- Participation in internal training, work groups, and committees.
- Interest in pursuing external training or certifications in relevant functional areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in a related field
- OR equivalent experience in a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting for extended periods using computer, video conferencing, and telephone.
- Regular standing and walking for document handling and meetings.
- Keyboarding for data entry and documentation.
- Work performed in an office environment with standard equipment.
- Occasional lifting of heavy objects (less than 5%).
Travel
Periodic travel as required.
Clearance
Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
