HR Systems & Data Lead (HRIS / Reporting)

Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises, a defense contractor, has an immediate need for a solutions-oriented HR Systems & Data Lead (HRIS / Reporting) in Virginia Beach, VA.

Job Description:

The HR Systems & Data Lead (HRIS / Reporting) serves as the HR department's subject-matter expert for HR technology, workforce data, reporting, and system integrations. This role focuses on maintaining accurate HR data, developing scalable dashboards and reports, and supporting the effective use of HR systems to enable informed decision-making and compliance.

This position works collaboratively with HR leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements, integrations, and continuous improvements to HR processes and data capabilities.

This role is hands-on and operational, with a primary focus on HR system ownership, data quality, and user enablement.

HR Systems & Data Management


  • Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of HR data across HRIS modules and connected systems.
  • Support alignment of HR systems with HR processes, compliance requirements, and organizational needs.
  • Establish and maintain data standards, documentation, and best practices related to HR systems.
  • Reporting, Dashboards & Decision Support
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visual reports to support decision-making at the department, leadership, and organizational levels.
  • Partner with HR leadership to define workforce metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Translate HR and workforce data into clear, actionable insights for a variety of stakeholders.


HR Systems Enhancements & Integrations


  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to HR system integrations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other partners to improve data flow, automation, and system efficiency.
  • Support testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization of HR technology solutions.
  • Administer and maintain HRIS user access, security roles, and permissions (RBAC), including defining, organizing, and refining role structures; execute approved access changes and partner with IT as needed to support compliance, least-privilege access, and audit requirements.


Training & User Support


  • Train HR team members and stakeholders on new and existing HR systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Develop user guides, process documentation, and training materials to support consistent system use.
  • Serve as a primary resource for HR systems questions and continuous improvement efforts.


Compliance & Data Quality


  • Ensure HR systems and reporting support internal controls, audits, and external compliance requirements.
  • Conduct routine data reviews and validation checks to maintain reporting accuracy and data reliability.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field and 4-7 years of experience working with HRIS platforms, HR data, reporting, or analytics.
  • Must have experience creating reports and dashboards to support leadership and operational decision-making.
  • Must have demonstrated project-oriented mindset, with experience coordinating HR system upgrades, integrations, or reporting initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience with Paycor HRIS or similar HR platforms, preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR systems or data in regulated, compliance-focused, or government-aligned environments, preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance reporting and data governance practices, preferred.
  • HR, HRIS, or analytics certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, or comparable) are a plus, but practical, hands-on experience is valued most.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
