Research Analyst

This position is contingent upon contract funding.

Purpose:


  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Analyst to join our team in Camarillo, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support NSWC Port Hueneme Intelligence Operations Directorate. This role requires strong research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate findings effectively.


Job Description:


  • Assist management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions to include formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information
  • Utilize Content Management Systems, learning Management Systems, and/or Sharable Content Object Reference Model.
  • Developing and maintain supply chain models, optimal time, cost, or logistics models, Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Modeling, Prediction, Allocation and Analysis for program evaluations, review, or implementation.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and data collection from various sources including databases, reports, and market trends.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate research findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and business strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of research data and methodologies.


Qualifications:


  • Must have H.S. Diploma.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience directly related to formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience developing and maintaining supply chain models, optimal time, cost, or logistics models, Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Modeling, Prediction, Allocation and Analysis for program evaluations, review, or implementation.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience directly related with utilization of Content Management Systems, learning Management Systems, and/or Sharable Content Object Reference Model.
  • This experience may run concurrently with the 2 years of formulating and applying mathematical modeling.
  • Must be comfortable assisting management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions


Desired Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in research, data analysis, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, or Python is preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD "Secret" security clearance with the possibility to upgrade to "Top Secret" if required.
  • Must be a US Citizen with a valid Driver's License.


Travel Requirements:


  • Up to 20% Travel, international and domestic, depending on program requirements.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, & kneel up to 75% of the time.
  • Repetitive motion, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, and visual acuity (depth perception).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), Inside or Outside / Noise levels

Pay Range: $25 - $32 per hour
