Assistant Teaching Professor in American Politics

The Department of Politics and International Relations, in the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs at Florida International University in Miami, FL, invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) position in American Politics. A successful candidate for this position will be one who can demonstrate their effectiveness in teaching an introductory course in American Government, both in person and online. Ability to teach a selection of upper-level undergraduate courses in American Government is also highly desirable. A Ph.D. in Political Science or related discipline is required. The anticipated starting date is August 13, 2026.

The Department of Politics and International Relations (https://pir.fiu.edu) is home to approximately 1,500 undergraduate majors, 60 MA and PhD students, and 35 full-time faculty members.

In 2021, the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs (The Green School), the college housing the Department of Politics and International Relations, received full membership in the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA). This prestigious organization includes the top 41 schools of international affairs in the world. The Green School is among only 26 in the U.S. with this designation, 5th in the Southeastern United States, and the 1st and only one in the State of Florida.
