Your Opportunity + Impact
The Practice Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the successful delivery of professional services within a dynamic and growing practice. This position leads and aligns technical and project management teams to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions while maintaining excellence in design, scope management, scheduling, and financial performance. The Practice Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping team culture, developing talent, strengthening client relationships, and advancing the firm's strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence practice growth, mentor future leaders, and contribute meaningfully to long-term business planning and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Builds and sustains an open, collaborative team environment that encourages learning, innovation, and professional advancement.
- Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and direct reports, providing guidance on career development, training, compensation, and skill growth.
- Engages in ongoing performance and career discussions with staff to align individual goals with practice and firm objectives.
- Collaborates effectively with managers, peers, clients, and contractors to support interdisciplinary project coordination and successful outcomes.
- Participates in marketing and client development efforts by maintaining key client relationships and identifying opportunities for new business growth.
- Reviews and approves project submittals, proposals, and presentations to ensure technical quality, consistency, and alignment with client expectations.
- Oversees project scopes, schedules, and budgets within the practice, ensuring contractual compliance and strong financial performance.
- Develops workload forecasts and staffing plans to align resources with current and anticipated project needs.
- Contributes to the development of annual goals, budgets, and multi-year strategic business plans, supporting sustainable practice growth.
- Monitors contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure procedural compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity.
- Supports project managers in evaluating project performance, identifying risks, and implementing improvement strategies.
- Supervises technical staff, including timesheet approvals, performance evaluations, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Champions quality assurance and quality control processes to elevate deliverable quality and reduce errors or omissions.
- Provides ongoing leadership, training, and support to enhance technical excellence, design capabilities, and professional growth across the practice.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor or Master's Degree in position relevant Engineering/ Architectural field from ABET or NAAB accredited school preferred, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study.
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years' job-related experience.
- Licensure/Certification: PE, RA, PLA, PLS, or other professional licensure in field of expertise strongly preferred.

- Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
- Ability to interact with clients, project team, vendors, and other external groups in a professional manner.
