Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Engineering Support Specialist supporting the Nosis and STRMS Programs. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports the knowlege, training, qualification, and proficeincy of some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. Our employees work closely with esteemed fleet and government customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions around the world.

In our highly collaborative and global environment, you'll provide lab, onboard, and distance support and services direct to our fleet customers and our own field support team with cloud technologies. Essentially, you'll perform research, data transfers, troubleshooting, installations, and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, fielding, troubleshooting, and repairing of Nosis and Nosis Cloud software, devices, systems, and third-party applications. Your will perform technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced software and cloud services systems.

What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
  • Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards

  • Cloud Computing, Support, or Administration Experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux Server Administration experience.
  • Oracle Database operation and maintenance.
  • Previous CANES or PPLAN Network administrator experience.
  • Must be able to complete all requirements for DoD 8570 Certification within 6 months.
  • Must have strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving and decision making-skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with minimal supervision, and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
  • Load and update software applications as required.
  • Operation in a shipboard Information Technology Customer support capacity.
  • Linux, ORACLE, VMware, Hyper-V, MSSQL, Windows Server 2008 or higher.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification.
  • Linux + Certification or equivalent training and experience.
  • AWS Credentials or Similar
  • Experience with VBScript, JavaScript, Windows Scripting, WBEM, .NET, JBOSS.
  • Experience with CANES or PPLAN Environments
  • Use, administration, and maintenance of Nosis or STRMS Software Suites

Target salary range: USD $82,015.00/Yr. - USD $88,743.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
