Overview

This role is located in Raleigh, NC with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office generally targeting three days a week in the office.

The Senior Director of Business Operations - Credit Risk Modeling will lead the Business Operations team in the Credit Risk Modeling group. The successful candidate will play a key role in the long-term success of the Credit Risk Modeling team assisting with long term planning including managing the timelines and dependencies in roadmap project plans as well as identifying, escalating and facilitating strategies to address potential risks before they become project roadblocks. Additionally, the role will be responsible for drafting internal and external project stakeholder communication and ensuring that comprehensive project status and deliverables documentation is maintained. Senior Directory Business Operations will also liaise across different part of the Bank in pursuit of mapping out most efficient end-to-end project strategies to facilitate model development activities, implementation, and BAU model usage across multiple Credit Risk Modeling Workstreams including CECL, CCAR and Wholesale Risk Ratings. The role is fast paced, offers broad organizational visibility, and provides the opportunity to gain cross-functional exposure across several key areas of the Bank and will report to the Credit Risk Modeling Executive.


Responsibilities

  • Coordination -Works closely with Credit, Risk and Modeling leadership, internal team, and external service providers to manage and maintain long-term project plans, milestones, timelines and deliverable and helps with Resource Assignment planning as needed.
  • Identifying Risk - Identifies dependencies and risks within and outside the project and facilitates development of resolution strategies before the identified risks become project roadblocks.
  • Reporting - Set meeting agendas, tracks action items; provides consolidated weekly status updates, helps draft Internal and External stakeholder communication. Provide ongoing updates on work progress and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders including project steering groups.
  • Analysis - Works with Credit Risk Modeling leadership to plan workstreams, create project plans, coordinate deliverables, upkeep project oversight materials including tracking remaining budget, assisting with defining vendor SOWs as needed, managing vendor contracts and overseeing contractors on-boarding/off-boarding in accordance with Bank policy.
  • Managerial Functions - Manages the performance, training and evaluation of assigned business operations project managers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience in Risk analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 16 years of experience in Risk analytics

Preferred Education: Post Grad

Preferred Area of Study: Quantitative discipline

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep understanding of one or more of the following - credit risk modeling, risk ratings, ACL, Stress Testing/CCAR.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to craft appropriate communication for effective internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Excellent organization skills to manage near and long-term deliverables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Visio.
  • Entry level or better proficiency in coding (R, Python, SAS, SQL, VBA) and database query (SQL)
  • Must be a team player.
  • Knowledge of one more of the following is a plus - risk and controls framework for Operational/SOX controls, Agile principles, Tableau.
