Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Business Resiliency Supervisor within the Technology Services organization, the IT Business Continuity Liaison is responsible for liaising with UCDH Business Continuity Planner, clinical and operational departments to guide them in developing long-term outage business continuity strategies, downtime procedures, solutions, and plans. This role will ensure that the technology division has clear understanding of the most critical applications required to sustain minimum viable hospital operations to execute an effective recovery process in response to a business interruption or disaster. In addition, this position will work with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts, responsible for requirements gathering and business continuity plans. This role will serve as a liaison with IT Applications & Nursing Informatics to provide guidance on extended outage planning for clinical and operational departments. Previous experience managing business continuity and disaster recovery plans and projects at an enterprise level in a large hospital/healthcare organization is highly desired. Previous experience in a hospital/clinical role (RN, CNA, LPN, PA, NP) is highly desirable in order to perform as a liaison with clinical/nursing staff.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • CBCP or CBRM, or similar business continuity/disaster recovery certifications that are widely recognized.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Must possess minimum 5 years' experience in planning, designing, and executing Healthcare/Hospital Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity plans based on an industry-standard framework (e.g. DRII, NIST).
  • Experience exercising independent judgment and personal initiative and accept responsibility for decision and actions.
  • Must possess general knowledge and understanding of the following technologies: Windows server UNIX/Linux server Enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) Networking Telecommunications Database administration Application development Data Center Facilities Backup/Restore/Archive
  • Experience with documenting solutions in a timely manner while ensuring acceptable level of detail, data integrity, and accountability.
  • Experience recognizing the need for and maintain security of confidential information, exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information or situations.
  • Experience working in a matrix type environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to schedule time with flexibility to handle varying workload and still meet tight deadlines.
  • Must possess strong project management and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience and willingness to share knowledge/expertise among various organizations within the health system.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
  • Proficient with common office applications, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Visio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital/clinical role (RN, CNA, LPN, PA, NP) is desirable in order to perform as a liaison with clinical staff.
