The Clinical Applications Professional 4 is a dedicated Epic Build Analyst for the Practice Experience Program. The Program is a nationally recognized team working to establish ongoing operational programs to improve physician efficiency and satisfaction with the Epic EHR. The program targets Faculty and Resident physicians, in all Ambulatory and Inpatient divisions, to provide a combination of Epic training and system optimization. This is an experienced Epic Application Analyst with a high degree of Epic system knowledge and recognized expertise in specific areas of the Epic EHR; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy; adapts well to change and multiple priorities.

As a technical leader in clinical informatics, the Clinical Applications Professional 4 applies advanced understanding of the Epic EHR and clinical workflow knowledge to lead and/or work on medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity. Responsibilities include: Providing leadership and serving as technical resource to the team; Partnering with Clinical Staff to identify system requirements and implement creative build solutions to improve the end user experience; Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and evaluating Epic technical solutions for the organization; Participating in planning, managing, training, implementation, and evaluation of information systems to support clinical practice and ensure development, evaluation, and ongoing support for all components of the program.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Current certification in either Epic Ambulatory or Epic Inpatient
  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) build and configuration.
  • Broadly encompassing or high in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s). Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Experience and/or skills to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills to effectively train, support, and convey highly technical information with clinical users and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills or experience, and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use.
  • Experience and/or skill serving as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, producing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrade, and industry advances and trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current certification in both Epic Ambulatory and Epic Inpatient
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical health care field (Nursing, MLT, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, etc.) and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Over one year experience in healthcare clinical practice environment including experience with healthcare information systems.
  • Academic institution or large integrated health system experience.

The program targets Faculty & Resident physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in all Ambulatory and Inpatient divisions, to provide a combination of Epic training and system optimization.

This is an experienced professional who applies advanced theoretical knowledge and practical expertise while taking a lead and independent role within the professional field. Demonstrates in-depth understanding of the discipline; independently performs, prioritizes, and oversees the full range of responsibilities within the function. Possesses broad job knowledge and exercises sound judgment in analyzing complex problems and issues of diverse scope to determine effective solutions. Leads and coordinates analytical support for health management activities, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics/performance metrics. Defines, implements, and optimizes systems and applications to support various functions. Provides mentorship and direction in customer service, troubleshooting, training, and maintenance to ensure operational excellence.

Work Environment
