The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Biomedical Repair Technician to support our government customer in Ft. Dietrick, MD.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for operational test equipment maintenance, test and site support.

  • Repair maintenance, and calibration of expeditionary test assets including, and among other related activities: ventilators, anesthesia machines, x-ray equipment, IV pumps, physiological monitors, cardiac defibrillators, electrocautery devices, steam sterilizer, blood chemistry analyzer, medical refrigerator, litter carriers and other miscellaneous pieces of medical equipment found in an EMEDS+10 UTC allowance standard.

  • Assists HPTs and ITTs as assigned to help assure testability of requirements, devises test plans, data collection sheets, devises, and research test methods for quantitative collection of test data.

  • Reviews and provides improvement recommendations to equipment users and maintenance manuals.

  • Participates in analysis of test data collected and to make recommendations to the Lead Analyst regarding suitability and effectiveness of equipment under test.

  • Identifies equipment and systems-under-test malfunctions and issues requiring creation and submission of customized tracking documents.

  • Ensure reports are accurately completed and submitted within established timelines for action by the requisite test director and ITT.

  • Makes use of medical equipment test devices such as analyzers, test meters, test lungs, data loggers and voltage meters. Calibrates, maintains these devices in working condition, and repairs them sending out for repair/calibration when unable to fix in-house.

  • Operates and disassembles unfamiliar pieces of medical equipment submitted for operational testing following manufacturer training or in-services.

  • Proposes updates and improvements of procedures and policies to the Director of Operations and Chief to improve quality, performance, decrease time or costs of operational test support functions.

  • Supports and maintains the field site properly periodic lifting and moving of items that potentially could weigh 60-80lbs (e.g., sandbags that secure shelters).

  • Ad-Hoc travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Must have an Associate's Degree OR an Association of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Certification in biomedical equipment repair.

  • Must have a record of DAU course completion in classes and continuous learning in the following areas: test, acquisition, systems engineering, logistics, market research, and requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have four (4) to eight (8) years of Biomedical Engineering Technology (BMET) experience.

  • Must have the ability to operate and disassemble unfamiliar pieces of medical equipment submitted for operational testing following manufacturer training or in-services with only user manuals available to guide operation and maintenance.

  • Must be able to lift sixty (60) to eighty (80) pounds.

  • Must be willing and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

  • Must be willing and able to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen - Born or Naturalized (Green Card and VISA holders not eligible.)

  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
