Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Human Resources Benefits Administrator to work on our Human Resource Total Rewards team. Our team works a 9/80 schedule, onsite out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. This role serves as the primary point of contact for short-term and long-term disability (STD/LTD) leave administration.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Explain short-term and long-term disability benefits information clearly to employees both written and verbal.
  • Draft professional communications, such as emails, letters, and benefits documents.
  • Analyze claims data or vendor information to identify issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide specialized administrative support in Benefits.
  • Prepare routine and specialized reports and respond to internal/external HR data requests (such as internal company reports, DOE reports, corporate reports, and HR self-assessment reports).
  • Assist in creating and maintaining presentations and/or slides for HR-related functions.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed (e.g., Security, Talent Acquisition, etc.).
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel-related documentation.
  • May provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs.

  • May file personnel and employee benefit information in applicable systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 3: High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing documents for billing and/or invoicing.
  • Experience in administrative roles within HR, business operations, or customer service, requiring attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive data with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Experience using Human Resources information systems and/or benefit platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP, or Oracle).

Job Information:

The pay range for this position is Level 3-grade 330 ($22.93-$37.82 per hour). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
