Logistics Project Manager, Megafactory

Tesla is seeking a highly organized, logistics-driven Logistics Project Manager to lead finished goods shipment execution, yard operations, and logistics scheduling for our Houston, TX site.This role combines technical coordination, vendor and port interface, trailer scheduling, and people leadership. The ideal candidate will also directly manage a team of Shipping Coordinators, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all shipping workflows and logistics data entry processes.

• Coordinate with Logistics and Transportation teams for timely trailer dispatches and inbound/outbound execution
• Manage Finished Goods Yard Inventory (e.g., Megapacks) with full traceability, layout strategy, and FIFO enforcement
• Lead FO-IPO shipment planning and execution for Service shipments and Shanghai Bento imports
• Schedule and optimize trailer traffic for inbound material deliveries and outbound FG shipments
• Oversee Straddle Carrier Drivers and Spotters, assigning priorities and validating trailer movements
• Directly supervise a team of Shipping Coordinators responsible for inbound and outbound shipments, yard management, and logistics coordination
• Provide support to Engineering / Operations / Inventory control / Production / Quality / Logistics / NPI in all formats dependent on business need and maturity

• 3+ years of logistics operations and project management experience, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Proven leadership experience managing hourly or coordinator-level logistics teams
• Strong understanding of shipping operations, yard management, and finished goods traceability
• Proficiency in Internal Tesla Systems including TMS, WMS, MFS, WARP, and YMS
• Experience with international and domestic trailer movement, port coordination, and DOT compliance
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage team escalations and cross-site logistics dependencies

Essential Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs.
• The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, hearing protection, full-face respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
