What you will do-

The Engineering Intern will supportthe overall Battery Electric Thermalengineeringteam.The role focuses on hands-on engineering work related to customer-specificPyroThinthermal barrier applications, as well as internal product and technology development efforts.

This internship is designed to provide exposure to real-world engineering challenges in electrified vehicle applications, including testing, data analysis, product development, and cross-functional collaboration.

In addition to day-to-day engineering support, the intern will own an overarching internship project aligned with active business needs. This project will span the duration of the internship and culminate in a final technical presentation to the engineering team, highlighting findings, analysis, and recommendations.

How will you do it-

The intern will support a broad range of engineering activities, including but not limited to:

Technical and Engineering Support



  • Assistwith testing activities, including test design, setup, execution, and teardown
  • Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data from material surveillance, product development, and customer-driven testing
  • Support data-driven decision making through clear documentation and basic reporting
  • Perform hands-on manual work such as fabricating test samples, assembling and disassembling parts, and evaluating design improvements
  • Assistwith customization of customer-specificPyroThinapplications
  • Support internal product development activities, including evaluation of new materials, constructions, and concepts
  • Explore customer requirements and help evaluate potential technical solutions


Cross-Functional Support



  • Function as a shared engineering resource across Program Engineering and Product Development Engineering as priorities require
  • Provide flexible support to New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts as needed
  • Support quality and manufacturing initiatives as needed, including potential collaboration with the East Providence, RI facility
  • Assistin the creation, improvement, and implementation of engineering tools, methods, and processes


Internship Project



  • Own a defined engineering project spanning the full duration of the internship
  • Work with a mentor to define project scope,objectives, and success criteria early in the internship
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate a real technical, product, or process-related problem
  • Summarize findings, lessons learned, and recommendations in a final presentation at the conclusion of the internship



Why you are right for the job-



  • Completion of a minimum of two years of college-level engineering coursework
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in electrification, advanced materials, and applied engineering problem-solving
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory or manufacturing-adjacent environment
  • Basic CAD experience is a plus, ideally with SolidWorks
  • Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
