  • Location: Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson

  • Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

  • Pay: $28.85/ hour


CW is seeking a highly organized and proactive Human Resources Generalist with a strong focus on fullcycle recruitment and supporting a unionized workforce. You will lead talent acquisition efforts, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding, and serve as a key resource for interpreting and applying the collective bargaining agreement. As the primary HR contact for employees and supervisors, you will promote a positive, professional, and contractcompliant workplace by providing clear guidance on HR practices, supporting daily HR needs, and ensuring consistent, fair application of policies and procedures.


Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities (90%):


  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Review applicants, screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions in coordination with the Project Manager and HR Team.

  • Onboarding Coordination: Lead new hire onboarding sessions, process new hire paperwork, ensure proper documentation, and facilitate initial training.

  • Employee Relations: Focus on detecting and preventing potential workplace issues. Handle grievances from employees, conduct investigations as necessary, and address conflicts through mediation and resolution techniques. Demonstrate the ability to empathize with employees' concerns, perspectives, and experiences, and to address them with sensitivity and understanding, while promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.

  • Union Contracts: Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and union agreements to ensure compliance and support positive labor relations.

  • Training and Employee Development: Deliver periodic refresher training or skills workshops to current staff; support continuous learning and compliance.

  • Benefits Administration: Assist with annual benefit rollouts and coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.

  • Workforce Support: Be a consistent presence and resource for employees-supporting morale, addressing questions, and helping resolve concerns.


Direct Operational Support (10%):


  • Team & Shift Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and monitoring the daily activities of the Custodial team.

  • Janitorial Duties: Participate in hands-on custodial duties as needed.

  • Shuttle Driving: Operate the company van to transport employees to and from work in a safe and timely manner.


What You'll Need to be Successful:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).

  • Professional HR certification (SHRMCP, SHRMSCP, PHR, SPHR) strongly preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources management.

  • Experience with AbilityOne program compliance is preferred.

  • Familiarity with CBAs and federal/state labor laws including HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with recruiting platforms and/or HRIS tools.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.

  • Ability to work effectively across diverse work environments and operational needs.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

  • Handle stressful or unexpected situations with a problem-solving mindset.
