Quality Engineer - Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

Location: Woburn, MA

Salary: Up to $120,000 annually | Direct Hire

Advantage Technical is hiring a Quality Engineer on behalf of our client in Woburn, MA, a company supporting aerospace and defense programs where reliability, safety, and compliance are essential. This Quality Engineer role plays a key part in strengthening manufacturing quality systems, supporting certification efforts, and ensuring aerospace components meet strict industry standards.

As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to maintain compliance with AS9100 quality requirements, drive root cause analysis, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across production.

Key Responsibilities



  • Build APQP / PPAP packages in accordance with AS9145 requirements
  • Develop KC variation management packages aligned with AS9103Create and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process flow diagrams
  • Prepare the organization for AS9100 certification and maintain ISO 9001 QMS compliance
  • Lead CAPA investigations and perform root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA
  • Support MRB activities and collaborate with engineering and production to resolve nonconformances
  • Monitor process capability using SPC, Cp, and Cpk to improve manufacturing performance


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 7-10 years of Quality Engineer experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Familiarity with SPC, statistical analysis tools, ERP, and QMS systems




Preferred: NADCAP and special process experience (heat treat, plating, NDT).
