Job Description




As a Armed Security Officer - Afternoon Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a residential community, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and an armed post requiring an armed guard card. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach while supporting residents and staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of residential buildings, parking areas, amenities, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, resident assistance, and timely notification to property management and/or local emergency services when appropriate.
  • Control access to the location by verifying authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, and observing camera systems and/or alarm signals as assigned.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and observations, and properly handle issued equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or armed guard license is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
