We are seeking a Safety Representative for County Materials Corp. at Roberts, WI.

The Safety Representative plays a key role in supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs. This role works closely with Operations and the Safety Team to ensure a safe, OSHA-compliant work environment while promoting a strong culture of safety across all departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, collaborative, and committed to improving safety processes, reducing workplace risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Job Duties:


  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities, workplace inspections, and incident reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute safety manuals, training materials, and compliance guidelines.
  • Coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and new-hire safety orientations.
  • Assist in developing training content and tracking safety training completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and worksites to ensure safety compliance.
  • Identify safety hazards and partner with Operations to recommend corrective actions.
  • Support preparation for internal and external safety audits (OSHA, insurance, regulatory).
  • Serve as a primary contact for reporting incidents, near misses, and workplace hazards.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective follow-up.
  • Support emergency response planning and coordinate safety drills and preparedness exercises.
  • Communicate safety policies, updates, and required procedures across the workforce.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare safety performance metrics and compliance reports for leadership.
  • Stay current on OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and organizational requirements.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting regulatory reports and documentation.


Work Environment:


  • Work performed in both office and field settings.
  • Routine travel to manufacturing or operational worksites for inspections and training.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Work near moving machinery, heavy equipment, and occasional electrical hazards.
  • Exposure to loud and active industrial environments.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and carry 10-40 lbs. occasionally; over 40 lbs. rarely.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and conducting site tours.
  • Occasional squatting, crouching, kneeling, or bending during inspections.
  • Ability to push, pull, and reach overhead when needed.


Experience & Qualifications:


  • Safety-related education is a plus.
  • Experience in safety, environmental health, risk management, or administrative support role preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and safety program development.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, safety training credentials) are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new safety systems or software.
