As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a vital role in safeguarding product quality, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust by coordinating and monitoring the plant's sanitation program. You ensure all activities are executed in alignment with SSOPs and USDA requirements, address deficiencies, and support proactive measures that prevent issues before they arise. Through your oversight, the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and operational integrity, enabling the production of safe, wholesome meat products that meet regulatory expectations and customer confidence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Leadership & Supervision - You will provide guidance to sanitation employees, carrying out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance management, and resolution of employee concerns in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

  • Sanitation System Compliance - You will verify that sanitation activities are properly designed, executed, and documented to ensure safe, wholesome products, while maintaining USDA regulatory compliance, company objectives, and strong audit performance.

  • Regulatory Oversight & Collaboration - You will make defendable compliance decisions that balance productivity with regulatory requirements, and conduct regular meetings with sanitation service providers, plant management, and USDA to review findings and resolve issues.

  • RODAC Program Administration - You will oversee the plant's RODAC program, including site sampling, analysis of results, corrective followup, and coordination with purchasing to ensure continuous supply availability.

  • Employee Training & Development - You will conduct preop inspection training, provide performance feedback to plant management, and foster strong working relationships with USDA and sanitation staff.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Food Science or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience in the professional sanitation or meat industries and processes; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • Leadership - Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project, required.

  • Technical & Regulatory Knowledge - Understanding of sanitation science, USDA/FSIS/HACCP/SSOP requirements, and ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards.

  • Communication & Systems Skills - Strong oral and written communication abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, and Word.

  • Collaboration & Workplace Culture - Demonstrated ability to be respectful, approachable, and teamoriented while fostering strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

  • Frequently required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
