Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Driver

As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Driver in Eden, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks while delivering outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so you will use a valid driver's license to move between assigned areas as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to campus community members and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with local law enforcement and/or campus officials as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout academic buildings, residence areas, parking lots and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and check identification and/or credentials as required, helping to control entry, manage visitor access and support special events.
• Document security-related observations, incidents and corrective actions in detailed reports, and communicate updates to site leadership during shift turnover.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
