Job Title: Engagement Manager, Donor Networks (Union) Status: Full-Time

SUMMARY
Develop, manage, and implement effective strategies to broaden the base and increase giving among technology professionals. Provide professional customer care to individual donors and volunteers, ensuring quality follow through and excellent project execution. Engage and cultivate donors and prospects by organizing, planning, and executing Donor Network volunteer programs and events, including the CIO Forum. Manage the Technology United portfolio of 50+ companies that support the CIO Forum. Participate in campaign department work groups and other projects, as assigned. All activities combined result in increased individual, corporate and workplace contributions to United Way. This position will report to the Manager, Donor Networks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Council and Network Management
- Initiate and prepare plans and strategies to increase contributions from donors who self-identify as Technology Professionals,
- Provide excellent service to leadership program members, who include many top community leaders and high-level donors.
- Manage the development and implementation of effective Technology United strategies.
- Council Management
- Identify prospects for and manage recruitment of Technology United Council members.
- Manage relationships with and provide excellent customer service to approximately 30 Technology United Council members, who include many top community leaders and high-level donors.
- Work with network co-chairs to establish the direction of the Technology United Council and council subcommittees, creating quarterly opportunities for member engagement.
- Organize monthly co-chair meetings, and quarterly council and subcommittee meetings, and event meetings as necessary for Technology United.
CIO Advisory Board Management
- Identify prospects for and manage recruitment of Technology United CIO Advisory Board Members.
- Manage relationships with and provide excellent customer service to approximately 50 CIO Advisory Board members who include many top community leaders and high-level donors.
- Manage the relationship between the CIO Advisory Board and Technology United Council.
- Support onboarding of new Advisory Board Members and complete follow-up as it relates to their participation in the CIO Forum.
Event Management
- Manage the Technology United CIO Forum event by working with the council to:
- Confirm CIO Advisory Board attendance
- Secure (50+) sponsorships
- Manage discussion topic selections
- Make panelist selection
- Create event program
- Work with Events Manager on venue logistics
- Work with Marketing & Communications on script, video production, and event materials
- Create the schedule for virtual meetings between CIOs and Sponsors
- Fulfill all sponsor benefits
- and more.
- Manage any and all other events led by Technology United, such as the Technology Career Fair and Membership events.
Tech for Good Marketplace
- Lead the Tech for Good Marketplace by working with key volunteers to identify and recruit technology professionals to provide service to nonprofits and assist in managing pro bono projects with partner and other community agencies.
- Support the committee meetings of the volunteer group.
- Utilize e-CImpact platform in partnership with the Data Team to receive project inquiries.
- Utilize the External Teams Workgroup to work with volunteers.
- Partner with Volunteer Engagement to track volunteer hours for this volunteer group.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to tell the story of impact this service provides our community partners.
- Work with co-chairs of Tech for Good Marketplace to identify and create awards for services provided to be announced at the annual CIO Forum.
Fundraising
- Set financial goals and track annual giving from network leadership and members.
- Equip co-chair and/or council members to follow-up with leadership and members regarding their personal giving.
- Support network leadership's fundraising efforts by providing donor and prospect lists for review, assigning appropriate calls to each volunteer, providing information and/or materials to support fundraising calls, and following up regularly to ensure volunteer success.
- Work closely with the Individual Engagement team to identify leadership and major giving potential from donor network members including planned giving potential.
- Identify and support solicitation of new workplace giving campaigns.
Technology United Portfolio Management
- Direct responsibility of relationships and fundraising results for portfolio of technology united accounts that begin with support of the CIO Forum.
- Develop timelines, key strategies, and action plans for portfolio of accounts.
- Provide individual stewardship for donors of CIO Forum sponsor companies.
- Respond to company contacts in a timely manner. Provide an excellent experience for company contacts, donors, and all other stakeholders during campaign and throughout the year.
- Manage collection of account information and input data to ensure accuracy of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Keep CRM up-to-date at all times.
- Set informed projections throughout campaign to ensure portfolio of accounts is on track.
- Cultivate relationships with company decision-makers and other individuals having an influence on company corporate gifts, sponsorships, employee giving, and volunteerism.
- Research and develop plans for leadership and major gifts prospects within portfolio of accounts.
- Increase meaningful engagement of small and mid-sized organizations by engaging internal Tech United members and offering year-round opportunities to learn and give back.
- Remain current with knowledge of internal processes and encourage process improvement when possible.
- Coordinate the hand over of cultivated account to Corporate Engagement team when the organization indicates they are ready to launch a United Way workplace campaign.
Other
- Ensure that account data is collected and input into ANDAR.
- Create donor network content in internal and external communications.
- Work with council board representatives to prepare United Way Board updates, as necessary.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
Successfully manage the donor network program and the Technology United corporate portfolio. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective Technology United leaders and members. Effectively communicate United Way's value-add to all constituents. All activities combined result in increased contributions to United Way.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree related to marketing, business or management, nonprofit management or philanthropy, or human services from four-year college or university
- 3-5 years fundraising, volunteer management or related experience.
- Board, capital campaign cabinet, nonprofit committee, or donor advisory committee management required.
- Management of small or large-scale events required.
- Understanding of marketing, sales or fundraising and customer service roles
- Understanding of nonprofit organizations, human services, and philanthropy.
- Computer experience and competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, or other similar programs.
- Experience with donor databases/CRM databases like ANDAR, Salesforce, etc. ideal.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact well with donors and volunteers on all socioeconomic levels.
- Demonstrated skills in letter writing and development.
- Experience with projects requiring high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Quality public speaking skills and experience highly desired.
- Event planning experience highly desired.
