ABOUT THE ROLE:

Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.

YOUR ROLE WOULD ENCOMPASS:



  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography of chest, extremities, skull and sinus, spine, ankle and foot, and abdomen. Practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
  • Uses sterile technique as required.
  • Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
  • Competently operates all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems to include, EMR, PACS and teleradiology.
  • Utilizes department computer systems, files, EMR and PACS to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
  • Properly cares for and images patients of all ages and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.
  • Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy.
  • Participates in the department's quality improvement plan as assigned.
  • Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies supervisor of equipment problems.
  • Keeps work area properly supplied.
  • Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.


YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):



  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program - required
  • Valid Temporary State Medical Radiographer license - required
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) - required
