| Duties and Responsibilities |
Visick Lab
- Carries out experiments as instructed by Principle Investigator (PI). Assists with experimental procedures involving bacteria, preparing reagents and solutions, and making direct experimental measurements.
- Performs basic lab techniques required to complete the project. Techniques performed may include animal care, Western Blot analysis. Reporter assays, biofilm and motility assays.
- Gathers, organizes, and records data. Performs simple analysis of results. May assist with library and/or electronic research. Incorporates new protocols and methodologies into work as directed by PI and/or senior lab staff.
- May assist in ordering lab supplies when required. Maintains orderly records of purchases.
- Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
- Performs techniques and assists with experiments specific to lab and in accordance with direction from individual PI.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Support research projects by performing routine cultures, western blot, gel electrophoresis and other routine molecular and cellular biology assays and analyses, as instructed by the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members.
