Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new physician adopters and growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute territory plans to drive adoption of the company's technologies and expand utilization.
- Demonstrate advanced competitive selling skills in a highly competitive market by strategically differentiating Sight Sciences' Interventional Glaucoma portfolio through clinical evidence, economic value messaging, and consultative selling.
- Organize and conduct hands-on training and education for physicians, fellows, and surgical staff to ensure appropriate device utilization and develop skillsets.
- Provide clinical support during initial and ongoing procedures to build confidence and proficiency.
- Develop strong partnerships and relationships with ophthalmologists, practice administrators, and surgical teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor on clinical applications, patient selection, and practice integration.
- Develop physician champions and key opinion leaders within the territory.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends, glaucoma disease management, emerging clinical evidence, and competitive technologies.
- Support regional and national industry meetings and physician education programs as needed.
- Partner cross functionally with Interventional Dry Eye team to elevate the standards of interventional eyecare.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of sales experience, with preferably a minimum of 3 years of medical sales experience in ophthalmology, with a proven track record of success
- Successful sales track record in the medical device industry
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong sales presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as well as within a strong team environment
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations
- Required residence in territory geography
Physical Demands:
- Stamina: Sales representatives may spend long hours on their feet, visiting multiple healthcare facilities and/or attending trade shows. They should have the stamina to maintain energy levels throughout the day to handle the physical demands associated with the job.
- Lifting & Carrying: Medical devices can range in size and weight, and sales representatives may need to transport and demonstrate these devices. The ability to lift and carry equipment, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more, may be required.
- Driving: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record will be required since sales representatives will be required to frequently travel to customer locations. They should be comfortable driving for extended periods of time and navigating various routes.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel requirement: up to 20-40% overnight travel (territory dependent)
- Face-to-face interaction with customers: up to 90%
