Position Summary

The Digital Design Studio (DDS) Inquiry Support Facilitator collaborates with the DDS Demonstration Teacher, school administration, and classroom teachers to cultivate an engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment for students ages 4-12 at UCLA Lab School. The role supports the planning and implementation of innovative, inquiry-based learning experiences within the Digital Design Studio. Partnering with classroom teachers, the facilitator promotes cross-curricular connections with an emphasis on social justice and inclusive educational practices. UCLA Lab School, part of the School of Education and Information Studies, is a research-driven demonstration school serving approximately 450 students ages 4-12. The facilitator identifies, evaluates, and utilizes instructional resources and technologies that enhance teaching and learning within the Digital Design Studio.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children. (Required) Or
  • 1 - 3 years Demonstrated ability to use computers and common software applications, including word processing, internet, and email, with the expectation of learning additional tools as needed. (Required) Or
  • Demonstrated ability to support learning environments for children ages 4-12 in an educational or informal learning setting. (Required)
  • Ability to support small-group work and student engagement without providing direct instruction. (Required)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized, safe, and adaptable workspace suitable for varied age groups and project types. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adults from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. (Required)
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate technical or observational information clearly to colleagues. (Required)
  • Demonstrated interest in or familiarity with technology-supported learning environments, such as STEM labs, makerspaces, or similar settings. (Preferred)
  • Experience or interest in areas such as robotics, coding, digital media, CAD design, 3D printing, or networked systems is desirable but not required; training will be provided. (Preferred)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

    • Bachelor's Degree Graduation from college and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the knowledge and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the position. (Required)

    Special Conditions for Employment

    • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
    • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
    • Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
    • TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
    • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
