Chromalloy is seeking a skilled Gas Turbine Engine Mechanic to join its San Diego operation. In this role, you will perform detailed teardown, repair, reassembly, troubleshooting, and quality verification of gas turbine engines and modules. The position supports Chromalloy's aerospace, defense, and energy customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair gas turbine engines and modules to OEM specifications.
  • Reassemble engines ensuring correct tolerances and peak performance.
  • Repair and fabricate engine parts using sanding, blasting, deburring, brazing, and other precision techniques.
  • Replace worn or damaged components using precision gauges and calibrated tools.
  • Troubleshoot engine discrepancies and identify root causes.
  • Verify quality and tolerances of repaired parts throughout processes.
  • Ensure tooling calibration and safety compliance before and during use.
  • Maintain documentation and follow Chromalloy MRO process standards (depending on shift/site).


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years mechanic experience (gas turbine or related mechanical fields).
  • Mechanical knowledge including assembly, repair, troubleshooting, and use of precision tools.
  • Ability to work overtime and operate in a teamcentric environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license is a strong plus.
  • Gas turbine engine experience preferred.
  • Auto mechanic experience may also qualify for entry into Mechanic I roles.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
