Summary:
The Security Specialist - Clinical Staff plays a key role in promoting a safe and secure environment for clinical teams across the Presbyterian organization. This position delivers highquality, experiencebased training focused on preventing and responding to workplaceviolence incidents-including injuries, battery, and assault.
The specialist ensures clinical staff receive consistent, comprehensive training across a wide range of securityrelated topics. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering effective training curriculum that supports organizational safety standards.
This role partners closely with the Workplace Violence Analyst to develop training informed by current trends and emerging risks across the enterprise, ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe and confident in their work environment. Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, and design security and safety training programs and curriculum. Deliver training to clinical staff on Active Shooter, Situational Awareness, Deescalation, Domestic Violence, SelfDefense, and related topics. Provide safety and security training for Home Health/Lone Worker staff. Research and implement best practices in healthcare security training. Tailor training plans to meet specific staff needs. Partner with the Workplace Violence Analyst to align training with violence trends. Build and maintain relationships with lawenforcement partners across New Mexico. Conduct training sessions, audits, and special safety/security events. Report training progress to leadership, including CompStat presentations. Develop program plans including scope, metrics, and charters. Create and deploy new safety and security initiatives that enhance the organizational security model. Support additional security department needs and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field - OR an additional 3 years of lawenforcement experience in lieu of a degree. 6 years of lawenforcement experience. New Mexico State Law Enforcement (LE) Certification or safety/securityrelated certifications preferred. New Mexico State Instructor Certification preferred. Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) certification required. Ability to travel throughout the state of New Mexico. Flexible work hours based on staff training schedules. Strong communication and instructional skills. Knowledgeable in safety and security topics. Advanced skills in classroom setup, educational technology, webinars, teleeducation, adultlearning principles, curriculum delivery, and management of the learning environment.
