MTSI is seeking to hire a
Project Control Specialist to serve
as key support to program leadership on one or more of the Army & Missile Defense Division's (AMD) programs. Primary duties will aim to ensure program execution aligns with budget, forecasting, and deliverable requirements. This role requires expertise in project control as well as knowledge of the entire program lifecycle, as the Project Control Specialist works collaboratively across cross-functional areas to ensure execution excellence and program success for all stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform Business Unit and Contract level performance analysis.
- Prepare and coordinate financial budgets, operation plans, forecasts, and what-if scenarios.
- Conduct analysis and recommendations for Business Unit level financial execution (overhead performance, variance analysis, forecasting based on Business Development opportunities).
- Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as necessary to identify trends and link outcomes to drivers.
Project Control Specialist Senior Technical Support
- Oversee financial control, cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting for complex programs.
- Prepare, track, and analyze program financial reports, ensuring accurate documentation and visibility for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with contracts management teams to ensure compliance with government regulations, including FAR/DFARS and other applicable guidelines.
- Monitor the program's funding profile, expenditures, and status in alignment with contract and performance objectives.
- Provide actionable insights to program leadership regarding risks, cost variances, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiencies.
- Participate in program reviews, audits, and customer deliverables, ensuring accountability and alignment with program goals.
- Develop and deliver briefing materials on program performance metrics to senior leadership and government customers.
- Interface with the Finance, Accounting, and Contracts team for related project/program issues.
- Support the tracking and processing of subcontractor and vendor invoices
Required Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance
- Bachelor's degree required - preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any related discipline.
- 6+ years of directly related professional experience in Project Control, FP&A, Accounting or any related discipline
- Government Contracting Experience working with multiple contract types (Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price).
- Experience reviewing and approving vendor invoices for accuracy and ensuring information is booked into the system accordingly.
- Proficiency tracking bill holds and accruals to closure across billing cycles.
- General understanding of the FAR.
- Familiarity with Financial Management toolkits such as Deltek CostPoint, Workday Adaptive Planning, Power BI or other similar ERP/BI systems.
- Microsoft Excel skills at an intermediate to advanced level, with proficiency in functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Secret level security clearance
- Workday Adaptive Planning experience, specifically building table-format reports and dashboards.
- Willingness to learn or prior experience developing analytic dashboards and digging into software outputs to resolve discrepancies.
- Past work with large subcontractor teams.
- Experience with Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, especially in Deltek Costpoint.
Additional Notes:
- Place of work is Huntsville, AL. Work is hybrid (remote/in office), with periodic travel required (< 10%). No full-time remote work available.
