Position Summary/ Department Summary:
As key member of the client service delivery team, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for partnering with leadership and each of the HR Centers of Excellence on matters involving employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, organizational change, job design, employee engagement etc. As an internal consultant, the HRBP builds strong relationships with the managers and employees in assigned client service areas. This position Reports to the Director, HR Business Partner.
Once the HRBP has demonstrated readiness to effectively manage client relationships, the role will transition to include managing an individual client portfolio, with increasing autonomy and responsibility within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of people strategies, in partnership with HR Business Partners, leaders, and colleagues across HR, that enable high-quality patient care and a positive employee experience across clinical and operational teams.
- Partner closely with the Senior Director and the HR Business Partner team to support workforce initiatives, gain exposure to enterprise priorities, and build consultative HR capability through collaboration and mentorship.
- Partner closely across HR to support coordinated, high-quality people solutions that align to business needs and organizational priorities.
- Support workforce initiatives related to staffing, engagement, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and change efforts, ensuring alignment with business priorities and organizational values.
- Prepare insights, data summaries, and materials that support informed decision-making by HR Business Partners and leaders, including workforce trends, employee feedback, and operational metrics.
- Participate in intake conversations and planning activities to help anticipate business needs, frame people-related challenges, and support the development of practical, sustainable solutions.
- Support the planning, coordination, and follow-through of HR initiatives, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations are clearly communicated and met.
- Build strong working relationships with leaders, managers, and HR colleagues by demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to service excellence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance HR service delivery, strengthen consistency, and support effective partnership across the HRBP team.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
- Bachelor's degree in HR Management or Business Administration preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience required.
- Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
- Prior human resources experience in an academic medical center, hospital, healthcare system or higher education system strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention-to-detail, ability to deal with ambiguity, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Data savvy, with ability to drive operational excellence using metrics.
Certifications:
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
