Clinical Technician 1 PRN - Med/Surg Joints Unit

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 1 to join the team in our Medical/Surgical Joints Unit (4C). This role will be PRN "as needed" with a minimum requirement of six shifts per four months, and as often as one shift per week, if desired. Days vary, Day Shift, 7:00AM - 7:30PM. Candidates must be able to attend a full-time, paid 6-week training period.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g. bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
• Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
• Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift: Days (7am-7:30pm)
Schedule: PRN shifts as needed. Minimum requirement of six 12-hour shifts per four months
Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6-week training period, including virtual training sessions, classroom training days in Falls Church, VA (8:00am-4:30pm), and shifts on their unit.

Clinical Technician Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: Healthcare experience preferred.
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association).
• Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a clinical technician preferred.
