We seek a motivated and technically curious IT Intern to join our Cloud Security organization. This role is ideal for students or early-career technologists who are eager to develop hands on experience in cloud, security, API engineering, and emerging AI technologies.
You will work closely with senior engineers to support security initiatives, develop automation, and experiment with AI/LLM based tools to enhance our cloud environment.

Essential Functions-

  • Collaborate with tech leads in the cloud and infrastructure security space to build and leverage technical software/AI solutions

  • Interact with vendor APIs , use foundational frameworks to train large rules and datasets

  • Work with SMEs to contribute to building/ training datasets, other cross-platform integrations for Cloud security solutions

    Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • Foundational understanding of programming concepts (Python, JavaScript, or similar).

  • Exposure to REST APIs and familiarity with JSONbased data exchange.

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP

  • Curiosity about AI technologies, including LLMs and automation tools.

  • Coursework/theoretical exposure to cybersecurity principles such as least privileged access, firewall functions and infrastructure security, networking basics, and vulnerability awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python scripting for automation or data handling.

  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

  • Understanding of prompt engineering basics.

  • Exposure to AI agent frameworks or chatbot development.

  • Coursework or code repositories highlighting personal/school code projects and AI agent build or interaction

This role will contribute to project deliveries under Cloud and Infrastructure Network Security

Minimum Education

Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Degree: Currently enrolled in a degree program such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Management, Finance, Economics, Information Security/Science/Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or other related major.

Minimum Experience

No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.

Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with across business units and to all levels of management.

Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

Pay: Salary is $25/hour for undergraduates and $30/hour for graduates. A $2,000 stipend is available for those relocating over 50 miles for an on-site or hybrid internship or co-op experience.

Additional Details: This position will be remote. This position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
