Job Title: Network Engineer IV

Location: Remote

Duration: 9 Months

Travel Required: Once a quarter - domestic

Ideal candidate profile:

Seeking a lead-level engineer CW with strong technical + people leadership.

Must have solid IT fundamentals and excellent communication, able to partner closely with the Deployment Director.

Experience in networking, data science, and/or data center/colo operations.

Proven track record leading end-to-end technical initiatives and deployments in data center/colo environments.

Summary:

The main function of a network engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze and make recommendations to adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands.

Supervise network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades.

Review and approve equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.

Review and approve solutions for network problems.

Review and approve conceptual, logical or physical network designs.

Develop procedures to track, project or report network availability, reliability, capacity or utilization.

Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.

Skills:

Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

Strong knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage.

Strong knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.

Strong understanding of computer software, including configuration management, operating systems, and internet directory services.

Expertise in computer hardware as it relates to data storage.

Proven problem-solving abilities, particularly in reviewing and approving solutions for network issues.

Solid grasp of IT fundamentals.

Verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage time.

Degrees/Certifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.
