Position Title: Associate Scientist
Work Location: Cambridge, MA 02138
Assignment Duration: 3 Years

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience OR
  • Associate's degree with 4+ years of experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of experience


Manager's Ideal Candidate

  • Multiple years of experience in biopharma
  • Hands-on experience with bioanalytical assays, including:

    • SEC-HPLC
    • Ion Exchange HPLC
    • Basic assays (pH, osmolality, protein concentration)


  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a large team environment


Top 3 Must-Have Skill Sets

  1. Purity characterization using chromatography
  2. Experience working in a collaborative/group setting
  3. Hands-on experience working with proteins


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments, analyze data, and report results with minimal supervision
  • Follow established protocols to ensure reproducible and reliable outcomes
  • Plan, monitor, and execute experiments; interpret and document results
  • Execute assays using standard laboratory equipment:

    • HPLC, UHPLC, CE
    • pH, viscosity, HIAC


  • Troubleshoot equipment and experimental issues
  • Maintain accurate and compliant electronic lab notebooks
  • Communicate results and insights to cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to reports, presentations, regulatory documents, and potential patents
  • Support departmental activities (safety, recruiting, committees)
  • Train junior staff when needed
  • Coordinate resources and manage experimental timelines
  • Make independent decisions while knowing when to seek guidance


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical assays as requested by scientists in a timely and compliant manner
  • Review daily schedules and prioritize workload
  • Ensure instruments and consumables are ready for use
  • Conduct analyses and report data promptly
  • Communicate results quickly to stakeholders
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure ELN compliance
  • Support study design and execution when required
