Overview
Aquent is partnering with a leading consumer brand known for its exceptional products and commitment to innovation in the e-commerce space. This company is on a mission to deliver unparalleled customer experiences and is strategically expanding its recurring revenue streams. Are you a hands-on performance marketing expert ready to build a subscription acquisition engine from the ground up and directly impact a brand's strategic shift towards recurring revenue? This is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of paid media execution and shape the future of a dynamic e-commerce business. You will be the internal strategic lead and day-to-day executor for paid media, managing an external digital media agency while owning campaign performance end-to-end. A key focus of this engagement is growing the subscription product, a significant strategic priority for the business as it shifts from a single-purchase acquisition model toward recurring revenue. This is not a strategy-only role; we need someone who actively pulls the levers to drive revenue and can simultaneously build a subscription acquisition engine that the brand has never fully invested in before. **What You'll Do** * **Hands-On Paid Media Execution**
* Own and actively manage paid media campaigns week-to-week across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Search & Shopping, and affiliate channels to drive revenue targets.
* Make real-time optimization decisions on budget pacing, audience targeting, bid strategy, and creative - not delegate them.
* Build and manage audience cohorts for both single-purchase and subscription acquisition funnels.
* **Subscription Growth Strategy**
* Develop top-of-funnel strategy specifically for subscription prospect acquisition, marking a fresh start for the brand in this area.
* Design retargeting and audience segmentation strategies to convert prospects into subscribers.
* Build learnings and cohort data over time to inform ongoing subscriber acquisition investment.
* **Agency Management**
* Serve as the daily liaison for the external media agency, leading weekly status calls, managing deliverables, conducting channel audits, and holding the team accountable to performance.
* Provide strategic direction on media plans, SEO strategy, affiliate program, and audience targeting.
* Push back on vendor narratives and overcomplicated recommendations when needed.
* **Technical & Measurement**
* Own pixel implementation, event tracking, and data passing, ensuring attribution and tracking are properly set up and functioning at all times.
* Leverage tools including analytics platforms, data visualization tools, and business intelligence software to pull audiences, brief engineering, and identify tracking issues.
* Conduct ad-hoc performance analysis and develop data-driven optimization plans.
* Monitor weekly KPIs to evaluate business health and support long-term scalability.
* **Creative, Go-To-Market & Cross-Functional Collaboration**
* Brief the internal creative team on asset needs (ad specs, content direction, deadlines) based on paid media performance data.
* Own timely launch of products and seasonal campaigns.
* Collaborate on A/B testing roadmap across digital channels to continuously improve performance.
* Partner cross-functionally with technology, engineering, finance, marketing, and e-commerce site teams. **Must-Have Qualifications** * 5+ years of DTC performance marketing experience with hands-on, week-to-week execution across Meta, Google Search & Shopping, and affiliates.
* CPG, food & beverage, or consumer lifestyle brand experience is required for this hiring round.
* Subscription experience rooted in DTC e-commerce or recurring delivery models, specifically web-based subscription funnels, not solely app or mobile subscription tiers.
* Demonstrated experience driving weekly revenue targets through active paid media optimization and real-time budget management.
* Technical proficiency in pixel implementation, event tracking, and data passing is non-negotiable.
* Experience managing and directing a third-party media agency.
* Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with analytics platforms, data visualization tools, business intelligence software, and Excel (VLOOKUP-level). **Nice-to-Have Qualifications** * Experience with DTC subscription brands in adjacent categories such as meal kits, beverage subscriptions, wine clubs, wellness, or beauty boxes.
* Agency-side background serving CPG or consumer brand clients.
* Affiliate channel management experience including publisher relationships and traffic quality auditing.
* Experience with leading affiliate platforms such as Partnerize, Impact, Rakuten, or similar.
* Ability to brief and iterate on paid creative assets (static and video) based on performance data.
* Basic SQL or HTML knowledge.
* A/B testing roadmap development and structured experimentation experience. **Who You Are** * A hands-on performance marketer who is equally comfortable building the strategy and executing it - there is no team beneath you in this role.
* Data and metrics-obsessed, you optimize in real time and validate decisions with numbers.
* Experienced in consumer brand environments and attuned to how DTC subscription buyers think and behave.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch in a fast-moving, lean team environment.
* A clear, direct communicator who can translate performance data into plain language for cross-functional partners.
* Collaborative and able to build trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike. **Logistics** * Contract duration: 4-5 months with potential for temp-to-perm conversion. Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. **About Aquent Talent:** Aquent Talent connects the best talent in marketing, creative, and design with the world's biggest brands.
