Position summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, Assistant Vice President is to support the corporate controller's accounting team. This will include processing month end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations for more complex accounting activities. The ideal candidate is a "self-starter", with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, keeping all relevant parties apprised of developments. This person must also fit well in our small company work environment.

Standard 4-day in-office requirement, 1 day remote (of your choosing)

Responsibilities



  • Prepare month end close procedures on a timely basis which includes preparing journal entries in the general ledger, researching and analyzing variances in general ledger activity in account balances.
  • Perform assigned daily and monthly balance sheet reconciliations in M-Files which includes the FRB reconciliation and promptly investigate and clear reconciling items. This involves ongoing communication with the Loan Servicing Team, Cash and Deposit Operations team, and Human Resources.
  • Support the Assistant Controller with required quarterly and annual documentation and testing. Continuously review and update accounting processes as needed to be in line with policies and procedures. Compile documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist and complete special projects and ad hoc requests. Respond to requests for various departments across the Bank.
  • Develop and update documentation procedures for key areas including account reconciliations and accounting processes. Identify process gaps and continuously work on process improvement in accounting systems and reporting.
  • Review of daily process and reconciliations performed by staff accountant.
  • Compilation and preparation of regular tax filings; quarterly commercial rent tax and sales tax return; annual filings of Form 1099-NEC and withholding tax return


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5 years of relevant work experience
  • CPA or CPA seeking candidate
  • PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Good working knowledge of GAAP and bank accounting principles
  • Should be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and work independently
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, and strong service and team orientation
  • Driven by a passion and curiosity to continuously learn how various technological systems, including AI, can enhance the work that you do.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills



  • 5+ years total in a banking environment. Finxact core banking, AFS loan servicing, and Prologue general ledger is a plus.


Potential Salary: $105,000 - $120,000 annually

This salary range reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
