PPG's Aerospace business is seeking an Aerospace Materials Quality Specialist, at our Shelby, NC location! You will ensure that products manufactured at this facility meet all customer requirements. You will report directly to our Quality Manager. This is an on-site role reporting to the Shelby, NC facility. In this role you will report to the Aerospace Materials Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal quality procedures, QA/Control Plans, PPAP documentation, PCDs, and customer/industry standards (ISO, AITM).
  • Monitor and control critical processes through effective documentation, quality systems, and tools (ETQ, ClientLink, Supplemental Audits, Laserfiche).
  • Conduct and facilitate Gage R&R studies and maintain the calibration system to ensure accurate, reliable measurement processes.
  • Maintain PFMEA documentation, identify manufacturing risks, and drive corrective actions through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead internal audits, support third-party audits, prepare audit reports, and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Ensure the training management system meets Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and supports compliance.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve quality and efficiency while leveraging ERP (QAD) and Microsoft Office for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of prior quality experience or related education in a manufacturing environment required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field such as Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
