Smith+Nephew is seeking a motivated and technically capable Quality Engineering Intern to support our Digital Quality initiative. This role will focus on the development and enhancement of Tulip applications used within our digital quality system. In addition to the Tulip application, the role may also include various software-based projects in excel, power automate, or power apps. The intern will work closely with the Quality Engineering Manager and cross functional stakeholders to help modernize quality processes, improve data capture, and strengthen quality compliance through digital solutions.

This internship offers hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and exposure to real-world quality systems, automation, and continuous improvement.

What will you be doing?

  • Design and develop Tulip applications to support Quality Engineering and Quality Control processes

  • Translate quality and business requirements into functional digital workflows

  • Create user-friendly interfaces and logic within Tulip for data collection and quality records

  • Test, troubleshoot, and debug applications to ensure accuracy, reliability, and usability

  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and OT teams to align digital solutions with operational needs

  • Document application logic, workflows, and user instructions

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to digital quality and data integrity

Planned Start Date: May 2026

Program Length: 12 weeks

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems

Experience:

  • Previous applicable intern, co-op, part-time or apprenticeship experience is preferred

Competencies:

  • Experience creating programs or applications with a preference in using a Low-code / no-code platforms

  • Experience in Microsoft software is preferred (Power Automate, Power Apps, Excel, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
