Description

UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Utility Billing Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for the day-to-day processing of utility invoices and resident billing, analysis of utility costs, consumption, trends, and reimbursement recovery performance across designated portfolio. Provide necessary support to Property Operations and Asset Quality to resolve utility issues, and coordinated efforts in support of Transactions as necessary for due diligence data requests. This role will require a balance of transactional accuracy and analytical insight to ensure optimal performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Review, code, and process utility invoices for accuracy and completeness.

2. Validate rates, tariffs, and energy supply contract terms against billed charges.

3. Perform monthly utility reimbursement billing process ensuring timely and accurate residential billing.

4. Analyze and document expense variances for reforecast and budgeting purposes.

5. Research and resolve billing discrepancies with utilities and vendors.

6. Maintain organized records of invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation.

7. Analyze utility consumption and cost trends across properties, identify variances and anomalies for reforecast and budgeting purposes.

8. Compile and maintain utility expense vs. recovery performance and identify opportunities.

9. Identify billing errors, rate issues, and cost-saving opportunities.

10. Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with historical utility data, trend analysis, and research.

11. Develop and maintain recurring monthly reports for internal stakeholders.

12. Identify potential ROIs through analysis of utility data.

13. Provide assistance with the administration of community utility addendums and default settings.

14. Maintain community database of resident billed utility services and related billing attributes. Track future opportunities in these areas.

15. Partner with Property Operations, Accounting, Asset Quality, and Transactions on utility-related questions and performance.

16. Manage the onboarding and offboarding of communities with utility vendors and other third parties in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, and new developments.

17. Assist with audits, regulatory compliance reviews, and ad hoc data requests.

18. Contribute to process improvements and standardization across designated portfolio.

19. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

3. Two years of work experience in utility billing, accounts payable, finance, or data analytics (multifamily real estate preferred).

4. Working knowledge of utility billing methodologies and rate structures strongly preferred.

5. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage both high volume and analytical tasks.

Hourly Range:
* $29/hr. - $32/hr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
