Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented and data-driven Principal Product Manager. You will leverage your deep product management expertise to identify the right opportunities to help us accelerate at scale and innovate faster for our customers. You will work closely with Technology, Operations, and Client Success throughout the Product Development Lifecycle to create and support products that delight our customers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the product meets the needs of the customer and the business while ensuring strong user adoption and feedback loops to continuously improve; You will provide key insights and recommendations to define the product roadmap, considering inputs from customers, sales and outreach, executive and strategic objectives, technology, industry trends, market analysis, and ensure government regulations are met. You must enjoy spending time with customers to understand their problems and the search for innovative solutions that will delight and impress them. You must be able to communicate effectively with all company departments. You will work with executive management to develop and champion product priorities and strategies, matching them to company goals. You'll work with Finance to build business cases and drive revenue or efficiency gains. You'll partner with Business Intelligence teams to ensure business metrics reflect the product roadmap. You'll collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to create and support go-to-market plans, helping each group understand key product components, benefits, positioning, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal evangelist for your ideas and may work with Sales staff as an external evangelist for new products and features.

You have a strong background working within Agile Scrum methodology with the ability to define user stories, use cases and product requirements, clear Acceptance Criteria, and to collaborate closely with the delivery teams to ensure sprint goals are met. You will work with User Experience and User Research, where needed to manage the design validation process, ensuring that key customer-driven design requirements are satisfied; translate user needs and problems to delivery team; own prioritization of the backlog based on input from Customers/Customer Success, Senior Management, Sales and Marketing, Engineering and other stakeholders; work closely with Customer Success to ensure user acceptance, monitor customer satisfaction and initiate improvements; communicate key deliverables and milestones to internal and external stakeholders and work with necessary team members to ensure dates are met; act as content and domain expert to support product marketing materials and initiatives; plan, schedule and review documentation and education materials for new applications and product releases, as applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Define and own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and execution in partnership with Executive Product Leader and to align to strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology People Leader and act as PO for assigned scrum delivery teams.
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder and roadmap planning meetings to align teams to product roadmap and updates, to ensure timely execution and success metrics and to collect feedback and guide overall strategy.
  • Collect and use customer feedback, user research, and market signals and research to identify product opportunities and gaps, define product features, and assess market feasibility.
  • Drive day-to-day product development from research and/or design to release with appropriate scheduling to deliver products on time with the right feature set and quality.
  • Create concise, clear, measurable product requirements and success criteria and communicate feature specs that enable multi-year product vision.
  • Use data to drive decision making and influence our business strategy and product priorities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Design, Research, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Operations, Customer Experience, Legal, Compliance and external partners.
  • Serve as a senior mentor and leader to other Product Managers and promote best practice for Agile Product Owners
  • Help the company build lightweight processes and standards where appropriate, avoiding rework and reinvention where possible.
  • Evangelize your products and drive adoption.
  • Personal responsibility for gaining a working understanding of all regulatory and legal requirements related to your role/work product and ensuring that those requirements are met.

Education

Minimum:



  • 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree


Preferred:



  • Graduate Degree, MBA or similar Masters degree



Experience

Minimum Years of Experience:



  • 8 years Software Product Management experience owning roadmap, strategy and delivery within an Agile methodology required. Experience with hardware and/or mobile products a plus but not required. Experience with external customers preferred.

  • Experience using and communicating data analytics; experience with Pendo preferred

  • Experience in effectively communicating product roadmaps and potential impacts and/or tradeoffs to stakeholders at all levels
  • An effective negotiator, able to make smart trade-offs without sacrificing quality and to provide insight and support for decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to build relationships with a distributed team

  • Performance mindset with ability to self-measure goals and progress
  • Bonus items:

    • Knowledge and use of Atlassian Suite, namely Jira and Confluence
    • User of Pendo to build and monitor product analytics
    • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Pragmatic Marketing, and Lean Startup methodologies
    • Understanding of Apple and Android App Stores and best practices





Working Conditions and Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
