What to Expect The Quality Engineer, GeneralAssemblywill work as a member of Tesla's Quality organization. The primaryobjectiveof this role is to support the production ofhigh qualityelectric vehicles through the continual improvement of process and product quality and the systems that surround them. The successful candidate for this position must be a problem-solver at his/her core, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, and have the personal drive and stamina for relentless, continual improvement. What You'll Do Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements; use of QA methodologies to manage andfacilitateissue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions Establish andmaintainquality performance metrics Develop and implement quality standards as part of the Tesla Quality System toassureproducts meetexpectationsof our target customers Support the development of product specifications and tolerances,designand processFMEAsand DVAs Establish andmaintaincontrol plans and inspection standards toassurecritical features are controlled through the assembly/production processes Lead/facilitatereview and disposition of discrepant materialsidentifiedfor control of nonconforming product Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow daily housekeeping and 5S standards Promote andmaintaina culture and attitude of continuous improvement, working within the Tesla team to make it more efficient,saferand an enjoyable place to work What You'll Bring Quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred) Specific training anddemonstratedsuccess in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc. Experience withbroadvariety of measurement and inspection techniques Ability, willingness to travel domestically, and internationally (5% to 10%) Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience in metrology and quality control, including gauge calibration and measurement system analysis (MSA) Experience in CAD software including AutoCAD, CATIA and/or Solid works Experience in process capability and statistical process control (SPC) using Minitab or JMP Experience in applying quality problem solving methodologies, including 8D, fishbone diagrams, 5 Why analysis, hypothesis testing, green belt, black belt , and design of experiments (DOE) Experience in PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
