Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Development Engineer to define, redesign, support and certify new and existing avionics products. This role requires an onsite work schedule in Mineral Wells, Texas with responsibilities as an integral member of the Engineering team.

Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

To be considered for the Development Engineer role, here are the skills you'll bring with you...

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Three to five years' experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In depth knowledge of 3D parametric CAD software and working knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Drafting and Design experience per ANSI Standards.
  • Experience in an engineering or product testing/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

It'd be great if you also had...

  • Design for Manufacturing experience or education.
  • CAD/CAM experience.
  • SolidWorks & Altium experience.
  • Electronic Design Architecture (EDA) experience.
  • Understanding of quality processes and familiarity with product safety documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation and modification of the mechanical requirements and design for new and existingproducts.
  • Review and evaluate product requests from customer and formulate conceptual design to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
  • Work with electrical engineers and designers to define and implement hardware requirements.
  • Support drafting, documentation, and configuration management activities.
  • Support the obsolescence engineering process and collaborate with operations/purchasing to identify solutions.
  • Investigate production issues with existing designs during the manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical alternatives for and coordinate the solution for material and manufacturing issues including manufacturability with existing production designs.
  • Design and development of test fixtures for use during environmental testing.
  • Support engineering change management activities through ECR, ECO, and DCO processes using the approved PLM database.

Salary Range Transparency:

Mineral Wells, TX $60,000.00-$80,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
