Mayville Engineering Company (MEC) is a leading provider of custom metal fabrication solutions, partnering with top OEMs to deliver innovative, high-quality products. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the summer to support key engineering initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and quality functions through hands-on project work and day-to-day engineering activities. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of manufacturing engineering while working closely with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.



Responsibilities

    Support manufacturing engineering projects tied to specific departments and new business initiatives
  1. Spend a portion of time assisting in the Quality Lab
  2. Develop and maintain documentation, including work instructions
  3. Conduct time studies and analyze processes to improve efficiency
  4. Assist with cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  5. Support creation of quote sheets for manufacturing cells
  6. Assist functional staff with routine and project-related tasks
  7. Complete assigned portions of larger engineering and process improvement projects


Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Educational Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
