8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as necessary.
Pay Rate $25.00/hour
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional GIS experience, preferably in facilities, utilities, campus, or infrastructure environments or a combination of schooling and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing geospatial data, geodatabases, and system integrations
  • Postgraduate experience in GIS is a preferred
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and geodatabase management
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CADtoGIS data workflows
  • Experience with field data collection using GPS and Total Station equipment
  • Proven experience with utility mapping and underground utility locating
  • Strong understanding of spatial data quality control, accuracy standards, and metadata
  • Ability to perform frequent fieldwork in varied environments
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate survey equipment
  • Comfortable working at heights, in tight or confined spaces, and in outdoor conditions
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to field locations

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Experience supporting enterprise GIS or utility network systems
  • Familiarity with GIS system architecture, data integrations, and ITfocused workflows
  • Experience working in higher education, government, or large facilities organizations
  • Knowledge of ESRI Utility Network, asset management, or facilities information systems
  • Surveying or GIS certifications (ESRI, GISP, or related)

Duties and Responsibilities
Geospatial Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain, update, and validate enterprise GIS datasets related to utilities, infrastructure, and campus assets
  • Manage geodatabases, feature classes, metadata, and data standards to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Support GIS system integrations between ArcGIS, CAD, utility records, and facilities management platforms
  • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and improving GIS workflows and data processes



Mapping & Technical Support

  • Create, update, and deliver customized maps and spatial analyses using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
  • Convert, align, and manage CAD drawings (AutoCAD) into GISready datasets
  • Support Facilities, Engineering, and Construction teams with reliable spatial data and visual deliverables
  • Provide technical consultation for GIS, surveying, and utility mapping requests


Surveying & Field Operations

  • Conduct field surveys using GPS and Total Station equipment to capture accurate spatial data
  • Perform utility locating and verification using approved utility locator equipment
  • Collect, verify, and reconcile field data with existing GIS and CAD records
  • Document field conditions, discrepancies, and asbuilt conditions for system updates


Collaboration & Project Support

  • Collaborate with Facilities Operations, Capital Projects, Design Services, and external contractors
  • Support construction and renovation projects with uptodate GIS and survey information
  • Assist in developing and maintaining GIS documentation, standards, and best practices
