Position Summary

Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic II

Department #/Name: 6L22 / Maintenance

Reports To: Value Stream Leader (Unless instructed otherwise)

The maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on assets on the property. They report to the Maintenance Supervisor and must be able to prioritize work assignments and use correct lock out/tag out procedures. This person must be conscious of safety hazards at all times and take the necessary measures to protect themselves and others.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Maintenance work orders throughout shift

  • Optimize up-time by performing scheduled preventative, predictive maintenance

  • Takes quick action to prevent excessive machine downtime

  • Adhere to maintenance related procedures

  • Adhere to safety procedures

  • Participates in Kaizan trainings and 5S events as needed

  • Takes responsibility for keeping work area clean

Qualifications

  • Must possess a journeyman card, certificate, or degree from accredited college in any of the following trades, HVAC, Electrical, or Industrial maintenance with 3-5 years of experience in one of these fields.

  • In lieu of journeyman card, degree, or certificate individual must possess ten years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple projects

  • Commitment to company values

  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems

  • Basic knowledge of Welding

  • Knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures

  • Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley and Direct Logic Software.

  • Fabricate hydraulic hoses using compatible fittings

  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or leads

  • Communication skills

  • Must possess own basic tools; all specialty tools will be provided via tool allowance fund.

  • Must be able to operate, diagnose, and repair company assets unsupervised

  • Able to work in a team environment

  • Shows initiative in attendance and punctuality

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, including heat between 100 and 120 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection must be worn at all times on the floor.
