We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Ontonagon, MI Team!

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This role ensures that machinery operates efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.


MAJOR DUTIES
  • Perform routine maintenance on production equipment, including inspection, lubrication, and adjustments
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions quickly
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Install, align, and calibrate new machinery and equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
  • Follow safety standards and comply with OSHA regulations
  • Assist in preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime
  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma (technical or trade school); Associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred
  • Experience with industrial machinery maintenance
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (motors, PLCs, wiring)
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems (gearboxes, conveyors, pumps)
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with PLC programming and automation systems preferred
  • Certification in maintenance or electrical systems preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs.
  • Use of ladders to reach shelves and trays
  • Manufacturing or industrial setting (may include noise, heat, or cold)
  • Requires standing, lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • May involve shift work, weekends, or on-call duties
