Position Summary: The Lead Chemical Dependency Counselor provides advanced clinical services for patients with acute substance use needs. The role is responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, coordinating care, supporting the social work team with discharge planning, and leading clinical interventions for complex cases. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education: Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology required. Experience: Experience working in acute care, inpatient or residential SUD settings.Previous leadership and supervisory experience. Licensure: LCPC, LCSW in addition to CADC. (Active and in good standing). Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria and level of care determinations, sxperience with clinical documentation and EMR systems, strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, ability to manage complex, high-acuity patient cases, effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership, training and supervisory capabilities, ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities, commitment to patient centered and harm reduction approaches.
