Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Trial Budget Analyst II independently develops, negotiates, and maintains budgets for clinical research studies with moderate complexity. The analyst ensures budgets are compliant with institutional policies, Medicare Coverage Analysis, and Fair Market Value standards while proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies. This role collaborates with investigators, sponsors, and cross-functional research teams to optimize financial performance and operational timelines. The Analyst II also mentors junior analysts, contributes to process improvement, and supports timely trial activation through accurate and efficient budget execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Budget Development & Negotiation: Independently create and negotiate budgets of moderate complexity. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, PCA, and FMV.
  • Financial Analysis & Compliance: Conduct feasibility and variance analyses and provide regular reports to Program Management Resolve discrepancies across budgets, billing, and coverage documents.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with investigators, sponsors, and internal teams. Support timely trial activation and financial alignment.
  • Mentorship & Process Improvement: Review junior analysts' work and provide feedback. Identify and implement workflow improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelors in finance, Business administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field OR Equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
  • Masters in business, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • 2 years Clinical Research administration, budgeting, or healthcare finance. Required
  • Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating clinical trial budgets and interpreting Payer Coverage Analysis (PCA) or Fair Market Value (FMV) standards. Preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Clinical Research Professional certification (e.g., ACRP, SOCRA) or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) Preferred
