The Design and Release Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and release of the Body Closure systems. This includes side doors, hoods, tailgates, hardware, and other related components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, materials, and manufacturing processes, with a focus on achieving optimal performance, durability, and safety standards. The Engineer will coordinate design activities and communicate results between the supplier and Stellantis cross functional groups. The job requires frequent interfacing with tier 1 suppliers to track program timing and deliverables. The Engineer will be involved in resolving component issues alongside the supplier at both the component level and vehicle level. The Engineer is required to support manufacturing builds at both supplier facility and Stellantis vehicle assembly plants. The Engineer will collaborate with supplier on DFMEA and DV and PV tests and is responsible to meet Stellantis published product milestones. The Design and Release Engineer (DRE) job responsibilities include but not limited to: Design & Development: Develop closure systems from concept through production, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
