Job Description




As a Security Officer Screening Operations in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will help monitor entry points, conduct screening procedures, and support a professional, welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This role blends customer service, communication, and attention to detail while helping address security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government location.
  • Screen visitors, staff, and/or personal property at designated entry points using approved procedures and reporting protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited items, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with site contacts and the public.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying identification, credentials, and/or visitor authorization according to location requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, while observing and reporting security-related concerns and unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
