This position is Onsite. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Ave, South Minneapolis, MN 55407.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be during normal business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains health information in both paper files and electronic systems.
  • Reviews charts for accurate information.
  • Organizes and maintains health information records.
  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, and files medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Provide cross-departmental coverage as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive, and thorough dealing with our members.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) & Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to float onsite between 2925 Chicago Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55407 and United Hospital, 333 North Smith Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55102. The position requires employees to be willing and able to support operations at both locations as business needs arise.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in health information management (HIM)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a health-related environment
  • 2+ years of medical terminology experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 - $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
