Description

Position Summary:
With general supervision from the Director of Contract Maintenance & Engine Programs, provides oversight of heavy maintenance, short-term, long-term storage, Mobile Repair Team (MRT) and paint program activity.

Salary: $80,000

Job Functions:



  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Ensures timely, and accurate processing of aircraft maintenance records for maintenance performed at assigned facility; to include Technical Response Approval Group (TRAG), Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR), Major Repair, Alteration Report, Corrosion Prevention, Corrosion Control (CPCP) reporting, and deferred maintenance reporting requirements.
  • Oversees the contract personnel performing heavy maintenance, ensures contracted services are performed per the terms of the agreement with the maintenance provider.
  • Oversees approval of man-hours for all non-routine work performed and for initial invoice review and approval.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT/FAA regulations, company policies and procedures in accordance with the Air Wisconsin Airlines General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Maintains partnership with contracted maintenance provider and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
  • Coordinates activities related to engineering services, material and tooling requirements, quality assurance and production.
  • Position requires extensive travel.


Required Competencies:



  • Requires moderate level of judgment to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Judgment and initiative are necessary in setting priorities. Must determine if unusual problems with routine procedures require involvement of others.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.


Education & Experience:

Required:



  • Associates degree in aviation management or engineering.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Three to five years supervisory experience in a FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operations.
  • Three to five years quality assurance/quality control experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Good working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel:



  • Maintenance offices, hangar/ramp, aircraft; may occasionally be exposed to exhaust from various engines and high noise levels.
  • Occasional time spent at low activity level, i.e., sitting.
  • Frequent standing/walking/movement required.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 70%
